Tyler had been waiting on Sunday to arrive for what felt like years. Even the game he wished would go quicker than normal. He just needed the Stars to get the win and then go find Savannah. She seemed to be a little reluctant to go to the game, but when he promised she'd have a seat next to Alex, she was more interested. He had even offered to get a ticket for Shea and Audrey as well if that made her more comfortable, but she had told him that they were busy.

He had seen her when he was on the ice for warm ups. He could tell her eyes was one him the entire time. Every time he glanced up, she was looking at him. He had to admit, it made him feel good. She seemed to be talking to Alex quite a bit, and he was glad that Alex had come to the game as well. Putting Savannah in the group of wives and girlfriends without backup could have caused some problems.

After a rough three periods, the Stars found themselves on top with a last minute game winning goal by Jamie. While Tyler was thrilled that the team finally got a win, he was happier that the game was over and he could finally go on his date with Savannah.

He showered as quick as he could and made his way out of the locker room. He saw Savannah in the hallway, leaning against a barricade, talking to Alex. She finally caught sight of him and gave him a small smile. "Enjoy the game?" he asked, standing between the two women. "How was your first game?" he asked, looking at Savannah.

"It was good. Appears Alex gets the best player though," she joked. "And most popular," she continued teasing.

"You've seen me at the bar, girls are crawling all over me. Benny doesn't hold a torch to me in that department," Tyler said, puffing his chest out.

Alex looked over at him. "You sure you wanna brag about that when you're about to go on a date with Van?" she asked.

Tyler appeared to think about it for a moment. "Good point," he said. "Alex, your boyfriend told me to let you know he had to do interviews since he wanted to play hero today so he'll be a little bit."

She nodded her head. "That's fine, you two have fun!" she said, shooting Savannah a look that Tyler couldn't quite read.

"We can wait on him," Savannah suggested.

Alex shook her head. "No, it's fine. I'm good with waiting on my own. But, I expect a text later to let me know how things went!" Savannah promised and then she and Tyler made their way to the parking lot for Tyler's truck since Savannah had gotten a ride in from Alex.

"So you really had a good time? Or an okay time?" Tyler asked as he unlocked the doors and Savannah climbed inside.

"Yeah," she told him. "I'm not a big hockey fan, but it was pretty fun watching you play and get a little rough out there," she said. It had been a pretty physical game, and Tyler had his fair share of hits, as well as being checked into the boards a few times.

"Yeah, you like that?" he asked suggestively. She rolled her eyes at his flirting. "So where are you taking me for our first date?" he changed subjects as he easily pulled out of the parking lot, with most of the traffic from the game clearing out.

"Well, I need you to take me back to my place first," she said.

He turned his head to look at her briefly before turning his attention back to the road. "You're inviting me back to your place already?" he asked her.

"I need to change my clothes," she explained. "But nice try, hot shot."

He glanced over at her, seeing her simple Stars long sleeve shirt, which he assumed she had borrowed from Alex and a pair of leggings. "You can't wear that for our date?" he asked her.

She shook her head as she looked out the passenger window. "No, it's not good for what I have planned," she said, giving no indication of what she had in mind. He didn't ask for more details, and kept driving. "So, what do you normally do on a first date?" she asked him casually.

Tyler chuckled as he turned the steering wheel to turn off the highway to get to her apartment. "First date? I don't have too many of those. Unless you count going to my place."

She didn't say anything, and he wondered if she was upset, but when he glanced over at her, she seemed to be laughing to herself. "What about you? You taking me on your classic first date?"

"No," she replied as he pulled into the parking lot to her apartment. "You're actually the first person I've taken where we're going," she said as she unbuckled her seat belt and climbed out of the truck.

"Do we need to go back to my place and have me change, too?" he wondered aloud.

Savannah turned around to take a look at what exactly he was wearing. The jeans he was wearing fitted him nicely and he had a black Stars t-shirt on as well. "No, you're fine," she said. He looked at her curiously, wondering just where exactly they were going to go. "I'll just be a minute," she said as she unlocked the door to her apartment and made her way back towards her bedroom.

"I can't join you?" Tyler asked jokingly.

"Not right now," she said, turning her head back around to give him a wink.

Tyler sat down on her couch, pulling his phone out of his pocket. He had a couple of texts from Jamie and his brother Jordie, who played for the Montreal Canadiens, both telling him to be safe with Savannah. He sent a fuck you to both of them before going to his Instagram account and scrolling through the home page.

"Okay, ready!" she said a few minutes later, and Tyler was impressed she had changed so quickly. He looked up, his eyes skimming her outfit. She had changed into a pair of skinny jeans with boots covering the lower half of them. On top, she was wearing a simple t-shirt. Tyler had to force himself to keep moving his eyes up from her chest to look in her eyes.

"You look good," he commented.

She smiled at him. "Thank you," she accepted the compliment. "Do you need to go home and let your dogs out or anything?" she asked, remembering the picture he had sent her of the mess they'd made when he stayed the night at her place.

He shook his head. "Nah, they'll be good. I just have to get back there tonight or I'll be calling the maid to come in before her next scheduled day."

Savannah followed him out of her apartment, turning to lock the door, before walking down the stairs to the parking lot. "I still can't believe you have a maid," she said. She saw him going towards his truck, and she pulled on his arm, stopping him. "Nope, I'm driving."

"You're really going through with this whole in charge of our first date thing, aren't you?" he questioned.

"You don't know where we're going. It's easier just for me to drive," she said. "Why, can't handle a woman in charge?" she challenged.

"Kinda turns me on," he winked at her. She didn't respond but instead easily backed out of her parking spot and got onto the road. He watched as she weaved through traffic. "Damn, you're a vicious driver."

She laughed. "Never said I won awards for my driving," she told him. "We'll be there soon," she assured him, and he just leaned forward, turning up the radio and singing along to the song.

She pulled into a parking lot ten minutes later, and Tyler looked around, trying to figure out where they were. His eyes landed on a sign. "You brought me to a shooting range?" he asked in disbelief. Safe to say he'd never had a first date like this.

"If you don't want to, we can go," she told him, turning the ignition off, but staying in her seat.

"I have to say, I've never shot a gun," he admitted. "Think you can teach me?"

A grin spread across her face. "I'll teach you to shoot a gun, and you can teach me to shoot a puck," she suggested.

"You're already planning our second date, Miss Decker! You gotta woo me with this first one first," he said, opening the passenger side door and stepping out of her car. He walked around and met her on the other side. She surprised him by grabbing his hand and guiding him to the back.

She seemed to know her way around, and it dawned on Tyler that this wasn't her first time here. She may be new to the city, but obviously she had been here before. "So you've never shot a gun? Ever?" she asked him, turning around to face him.

Tyler shook his head. "Can't say that I have," he admitted.

"Okay, the basics first then," she said, beginning to teach him the safety guidelines for guns. He listened to her, impressed by her knowledge. From the safety lesson, she moved on to describe exactly how to shoot a gun. Before long, she was taking him to the actual shooting range. "Ready to shoot a gun?" she asked him. He could tell she was really excited about this, and he wondered if she enjoyed shooting guns like he enjoyed skating around. He guessed both were parts of their jobs, so it made sense.

"Something tells me I'm not going to be as good at this as you are," he laughed.

"Can't be good at everything," she replied. "Just try a practice shot," she suggested, and he got in position and tried to remember everything she had said in her brief session.

The gun was louder than he expected, and a lot harder to shoot than he had thought. "Shit," he muttered after firing just one bullet off, which didn't land anywhere near the bullseye.
"That was hard," he admitted.

Savannah smiled. "Just need a little practice."

"You seriously can hit that bullseye?" he asked in disbelief. She nodded her head with a grin on her face. "Let's see," he challenged.

Savannah moved into position and aimed her gun up at the bullseye. He could tell she had done this a million times before. She really looked in her element, and he assumed that's how he looked in the faceoff circle. She let off five quick rounds, and when he appeared around her, he noticed all five bullet holes were right around the bullseye. "Damn!" he said, impressed. "Remind me never to mess with you when you've got a gun in your hand."

The two of them continued for another hour before Savannah's hunger couldn't hold off anymore. "Time for food?" she asked, and Tyler nodded his head.

"Got somewhere in mind?" he asked as they put the guns away and started back to her car.

"How about something on the way back to your place?" she suggested. He gave her a sideways look, and she gently pushed his shoulder. "Get your mind out of the gutter, Seguin. I thought we could go check on your dogs!"

"Sure, use the dogs as an excuse to get into my place," he laughed. "But, I know this really good place that does take out. Here, give me your keys and I'll drive," he said, holding his hand out next to her.

She stopped dead in her tracks, and Tyler didn't notice for a couple steps. He turned back around, making his way back to her. "What?" he asked her, wondering if something was wrong.

"You can't seriously be asking to drive my car right now," she said in disbelief.

He raised his eyebrows at her, caught off guard. "Damn, you're possessive," he muttered. Her eyes widened, and he cut her off before she started arguing with him. "Fine, I'll just give you directions," he relented, and she nodded her head curtly as she continued walking to her car. He stayed a few steps behind her, getting a good look at her ass, which looked real good in the jeans she chose to wear. He wondered if she did that on purpose.

They didn't talk much during the short trip to the diner on the outskirts of town except for Tyler giving her directions. She parked on the street, and Tyler hopped out of the car, with Savannah following him. She shivered a bit as the temperature had dropped quite a bit as the night set in. They may live in Dallas, but temperatures still got chilly throughout the day. Tyler noticed, and said, "Cold?"

Savannah chuckled. "You'd think I'd be used to it by now."

"You came from Chicago, right? Yeah, the Windy City gets pretty damn cold in the winter. I remember playing there last year and it was like a damn blizzard or something. I swear, none of us wanted to get off that bus from the airport," he recalled.

"Plus, I grew up in Minnesota, and those winters are brutal," she replied as he held the door to the diner open for her.

He turned his head. "You grew up in Minnesota, I didn't know that," he told her. When he thought about it, he didn't know much about her growing up at all. It wasn't like Shea talked about it much. Hell, he didn't even know Shea had a twin until a few weeks ago.

"Yeah," she smiled. "Just outside of Minneapolis," she told him as she looked around. The place wasn't exactly brand new, but it was cozy and comfy, and she liked that. Based on the number of people enjoying their dinners, it appeared the place must be good.

"Ty!" a girl maybe in her mid to late twenties came out from around the counter and gave him a hug. He glanced over her head to see Savannah staring at them. She didn't look mad per se, but she definitely was interested in who this woman was. "I haven't seen you in like months! Why haven't you called me?" she continued, and Savannah's face dropped slightly.

Tyler chuckled. "I'm in the middle of this thing called the NHL season," he replied. "Kylie, this is Savannah. Be nice, this is our first date, and she's trying to woo me," he introduced with a wink. "Savannah, this is Kylie."

Kylie turned towards Savannah, a big smile on her face. "It's nice to meet you," she said, extending a hand, which Savannah shook. She turned back towards Tyler. "So first date, huh? I thought Tyler Seguin didn't date," she teased him, and Savannah wondered if Kylie had tried dating him.

"Sorry, Kylie, just needed to be the right girl, I guess," Tyler told her. "Where's that husband of yours, by the way? I haven't seen him the last few times I've been in here." He turned to Savannah. "Kylie's mom technically owns this place, but Ky and her husband, Brennan, pretty much run this place. Speaking of your mom, I didn't see her last time either."

"She's in Florida right now," Kylie informed him. "And Brennan is picking Addie up from dance class. So you're stuck with me. What do you want? Here or to go?"

"To go please," Tyler requested, and Kylie grabbed a pad of paper to take his order. He glanced at Savannah. "What are you in the mood for? They've got pretty much anything you could want here, and it's all good."

"I'll let you decide," she said. "Just don't disappoint me," she added with a wink.

"Oh, I never disappoint," he replied, raising an eyebrow at her.

"What's your order, Tyler?" Kylie brought him out of his flirtatious ways with Savannah. He rattled off a ton of different things and Kylie nodded before she walked off to put the order in. He stood off to the side to let another couple get by and then pulled Savannah over into the corner to wait on their food together.

"What are you thinking?" he asked her. He couldn't read her like he could other women, and he didn't know if he liked that or not. There was a lot about Savannah that was different from other women.

"You're very well liked," she commented randomly.

Tyler chuckled. "Uh..thanks?"

She smiled at him. "No, it's not a bad thing," she assured him. "It's just everywhere we go, everyone loves you. What's that like? To have everyone love you?"

"C'mon, people love you, too," he told her.

"I’m not like a fan favorite or something," she laughed, looking up at him.

"Well, I am pretty popular," he feigned being conceited as he brushed his shoulders, earning an eye roll from Savannah. "Seriously though, I don't know, I don't think about it," he admitted. She nodded her head, seeming to accept that answer. "Sometimes I use it for good, like going to visit sick kids or something like that. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass."

"Well Mr. Popular, I like that I get you to myself tonight," she said, and he noticed a darkness in her eyes, and he knew exactly what she meant. He couldn't help but smile at her. He was about to use a line on her when Kylie interrupted them.

"Food will be ready in like two minutes," she told them. "Need any dessert or anything?"

Tyler glanced at Savannah who shrugged her shoulders. "Whatever you want."

"I've got what I want," he muttered, with neither girl hearing him. He then looked over at Kylie. "Yeah, throw a couple pieces of your peanut butter pie in there." Kylie nodded and happily went over to fulfill that request. "I'm telling you, it's the best thing you'll eat," he promised Savannah.

"Like I said, don't disappoint me, Seguin," Savannah challenged, and Tyler just smiled at her as he put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into him.
