His Teammate's Sister
Chapter 6
Aly knew she had to tell her brother that she was the girl that Kreids was dating and despite Kelly being by her side, she was terrified of her brother’s reaction because of how strict he can be. The girls walked into the apartment as Jacob was making lunch.
“Hey ladies. How was lunch?” Jacob asked.
Kelly kissed her fiancé’s cheek, “Honey, Aly needs to talk to you.”
Jacob chuckled, “Me first. Stromes and Brady told me Kreids has a new girl and he already banged her. That dude moves on pretty freaking quick.”
Aly took a deep breath, “Jacob, she’s me. I’m Kreider’s new girlfriend.”
Jacob dropped the jar of mustard on the floor, causing it to break, “WHAT?! YOU?!”
”Jacob, Aly is 26. She can date who she wants,” Kelly added.
”LIKE HELL SHE CAN. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!” Jacob screamed.
Aly got defensive, “I’m tired of you being controlling! Chris makes me so happy and too bad if you can’t see that!”
”Aly, he is my teammate and someone you interview every fucking day. The Garden front office will have a field day if they find out,” Jacob freaked.
Kelly’s eyes went wide, “Are you gonna rat out your own sister?!”
”If it’s not me, someone will,” Jacob said.
Aly grabbed her purse and phone, “I’m going to my boyfriend’s. Don’t wait up, and Kelly, thanks for having my back.” She slammed the door in anger.
While Kelly tried to calm her fiancé down, Aly took a train and walked two blocks in Tribeca. She finally made it to Chris’ place and knocked on the door.
Chris opened the door and got weak upon the sight, “Aly? Baby? What happened? Come inside.”
Aly was crying as Chris closed the door, “Your brother knows. I told him and he is furious we’re dating, and he’s possibly gonna tell the front office.”
“Oh like hell he will. Baby, I don’t care if I speak to him all season. I am with you and that will never change,” Chris assured.
Aly sniffed, “Really? You mean it?”
Chris whispered against her lips, “Absolutely baby.”
To quote F. Scott Fitzgerald, the couple slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered...but can Kelly heal the bridge between brother and sister?
