Cellphones: Texts & Calls (ON-HOLD)

After practice I usually had nothing planned unless I was invited to some type of outing or event. Lupes was driving us both back to our penthouse I guess you would call it. He had some plans of his own with his family today, but I was going to stay home.

A Drake song played on the radio, but I didn't pay much attention. I brought out my cellphone and looked at my texts. There was nothing important, but I did look at my call history. I called Taylor Hall lastnight? I thought to myself, but then I remembered. I didn't call Hallsy, I called that girl by accident.

I texted the number.

4:37PM: Hey whats up? - Naz

I anxiously waited. I didn't know what could pass the time any quicker, so I started tapping my feet and singing. Soon enough my phone vibrated and lit up.

4:45PM: Look at you. You actually remembered hahaha but im just watching some show. I have nothing better to do, and yourself? :) - Raisa

4:48PM: I kind of don't remember all that well, I will admit that but I thought you said your name was Paisley? Hahah and I'm driving home right now well my friend is driving actually - Naz

4:50PM: Of course you didn't. You were wasted, dork hahaha. I told you Peyton. I'm not going to give a stranger my real name! My middle name is Peyton. Raisa is my real first name :) - Raisa

4:52PM: Sorry hun hahah but yeah I guess that's reasonable. Nice to talk to you again and sorry about waking you up last night. Hope you had a good sleep still :) - Naz

4:56PM: It's alright. Yeah my sleep was okay thanks for asking - Raisa

I was smiling at my phone. I could tell Joffrey thought something was wrong with me because he kept looking over at me every few seconds. "What's wrong, man?" He asked with a smirk. He was on to me and figured something was up.

I looked over at him. "Oh nothing," I lied to him. If I was to tell him about this girl he would probably freak out and say it was a bad idea to talk to her, but she seemed normal and cool. She was actually real and not so fan like.

5:00PM: So what are you watching anyways - Naz

5:03: Game of thrones, also known as my favorite show next to the office!!

5:05: Lol one of my teammates love the game of thrones but I have never watched it but I like the office :) - Naz

5:07: Oh nice! It's a great show you should watch it one day. So teammates huh, is that like your friend Hallsy or..... - Raisa

I didn't know what to say. I didn't know if I should drop the hockey bomb yet or not. It took me some time to figure out an appropriate way to respond. My mind was boggled, thinking of different outcomes. If I was to keep talking to her, I would at some point, have to tell her. After ten long minutes, I had it.

5:17PM: Oh yeah he was before we used to be hockey teammates

5:20PM: Cool! Hockey is pretty awesome. I'm around the sport quite a bit!! I'm more of a baseball and volleyball kinda gal though ;) but my brother plays so that's my connection to the game hahah if that gets me points - Raisa

5:21PM: I used to play volleyball in highschool haha, but that's awesome. At least you're active right! Oh awesome :) - Naz

5:23PM: Yeah cool! So how old are you anyways Nazem - Raisa

5:25PM: Oh im 22 right now but I'll be turning 23, hbu - Naz

5:28PM: I just turned 23 haha im older than you :p - Raisa

Joffrey and I finally pulled up to our suburban neighborhood apartment. I was only being dropped off because right after this he was going to pick up his sister from the airport. The two were going to go out for dinner afterwards, so he wouldn't be home till later on.

I opened the car door with my face staring at the cellphone screen. "Hey Naz, you better not be texting Yasmine." Joffrey nagged, yet again. I just sighed as it brought up the bad memories.

"Don't worry, I'm not. I'm just texting one of my old friends from Juniors." I defended with a lie as I looked at him in his car. From his facial expressions, it didn't look like he bought into what I was saying.

"Fine, whatever. I'll be back around eleven or twelve. Stay out of trouble. We have a flight at two tomorrow." Joffrey was a best friend and a very mature guy, but he did let loose. It was hard to break through though. The guy was a complete beauty though and he knew that himself. Lupes was a cocky guy, always has been and always will be.

I shut the car door after saying, "Alright tell your sister I said hey."

I went to the door and unlocked the door. I went to the kitchen and sat grabbed a diet soda from the fridge. I took a seat on the stool the island. I pulled out my phone again and re-read the last text message I got.

5:38PM: Whatever hahah so will you tell me more about yourself? - Naz

5:43PM: Well I am 23 and I went to university in Vancouver. I played hockey as a kid but it wasn't really my thing but i do love being around the sport. My brother loved it and is really good at it now. I love cats and I'm not ashamed! :D hahaha I jog usually every morning, if I can. I'm an amateur trainer for the edmonton oil kings in the whl right now so that's fun haha. Now your turn - Raisa

5:46PM: Huh that's pretty cool. So do you watch hockey a lot? I love how you say I'm not ashamed lol and you're job sounds fun....ish haha but I'm from London Ontario and I'm Lebanese. I love steak and going to the keg. I play hockey. There's not much to know about me lol - Naz

5:50PM: I watch a lot of Junior hockey, like you'd be amazed hahah i only watch nhl hockey when the habs play and my job is actually really awesome the guys are pretty funny :) That's actually really cool, I mean not a lot of guys from Lebanon play hockey not to sound rude. Dont worry i love steak too haha - Raisa

5:52PM: Lol ew the canadiens but yeah i'd like to think of myself as an ambassador. hockey guys are the best type of guys you can possibly date, no lie ;) - Naz

I left it at that. I didn't really know what to do after that. I finally put my phone down and realized I had twenty percent of battery life left. I had finished drinking my soda. I
