The next day she sat in the same class as the day before dreading the second half of the lecture more than the first as she felt someones presence beside her.
"Do you know how happy I am that this class is Wednesday AND Thursday?" He said with an abnormally large smile for the circumstances.
"Since when are you happy we have to live this hell twice in one week?"
"Since we can ignore Figs and talk about last night."
She sighed, staring at him with one eyebrow raised. "Really?"
He smiled and nodded in return.
"What are you, a girl? You want to gossip all class about the guy I danced with last night?"
"When that guy is a Boston Bruin, yep."
"I hang out with Boston Bruins all the time, I don't see why this one is any different."
"Because this one isn't Segs or Marchy, that's why! Plus.. I may have been directed to probe for info, but I'm not supposed to tell you that part."
"Well, cross James Bond off of your list of future employment opportunities." she retorted sarcastically.
"Ouch." He thumped his hand over his heart and feigned a look of anguish.
"Like it was a secret."
"Alright, alright enough damaging my ego. Spill woman."
She shut her laptop knowing it would be no use to her for the rest of this class and laid her head down on her arms.
"What do they want to know?"
"Enough to take back to him."
"Why?" She said a bit confused, he was a big deal after all and didn't see why she would matter any.
"Tyler says apparently he's a shy guy and doesn't get out a lot, thinks maybe you two might be good for each other." He leaned back in his chair crossing his arms. "I can see it all now, Mr. and Mrs. Sweatpants. You guys could even have matching sweatpants since yours are team sweats."
"You done?" he nodded, "good. Alright. He's hot, he offered to buy me some shots, we talked, seems like a pretty decent guy, he asked me to dance and I said yes. Although I don't see the shy thing. Is that enough for you Mr. Bond?" She said pulling a british accent at the end.
"I'll let you know," he said pulling out his phone and unlocking it.

The Bruins were set up for a week of away games starting the day after their evening out, and they all sat on the bus driving to the next game as Tyler felt his phone vibrate from his pocket. He was siting beside Brad, as usual, when he read the message from Fred and smirked.
"Perfect."
He got up, heading across the bus to the group of seats some of his other teammates currently occupied, reaching them he knelt down beside Adams seat.
"So Quaider, have fun last night?" He chuckled.
"Maybe, what's it to ya?"
"Have fun with Liz?"
"Last question still applies.
"She had fun with you."
Adam's quick responses faded as he sat there contemplating what he just heard, happily.
"Did she?"
Tyler pulled out his phone and looked at the message from Fred.
"You're hot, a decent guy, and you bought shots."
He chuckled, shaking his head. "You're right, I sound pretty fun."
Tyler sighed, shoving his phone back in his pocket. "She likes you, dude."
"That's what you got from the text?"
"I know Liz. She likes you. You wanna see her again?"
Adam didn't say anything, just looked over to Tyler.
"Come on, she's funny, she's awesome, she's smoking hot."
"Then why aren't you with her, Segs?"
"She's smarter than that, bro." He replied with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing her again."
A grin spread across Tyler's face. "Perfect, then you're coming out with us again after the next home game."
Before Adam could protest, Tyler bounced up and proceeded back to his seat, leaving Adam to think about the girl from the night before.

A week later, Liz found herself back in the stands of the Garden again with Fred. She sighed, taking a drink of her beer and looking around the empty ice surface. The game was about to start and Tyler had scored them glass seats right behind the Bruins bench.
"How exactly did Tyler manage to get these seats the week of the game?"
Fred chuckled, smirking at his friend. "It's amazing what people will do for a couple pictures and a signed jersey."
She shook her head and took another drink of her beer. "He would. Now why exactly am I here again? Didn't I fulfill my quota for the season when I came with you last week?"
"Oh come on, it's not like I threatened you with a gun to get you here. And you're here because someone wanted to see you."
She furrowed her brow and looked at him confused, "someone wanted to see me?" Her face went serious, "if you say Brad, so help me God Fred."
Before she had the chance to respond the Garden suddenly filled with screams, indicating that the boys were heading to the ice. Turning back to the ice she watched them all running out onto the ice and heading to their end, scanning the surface she noticed Tyler standing in the middle of the ice with another Bruin, pointing in her and Fred's direction. She squinted a little to get a better look at the number on his arm. When it registered to her who Segs was talking to, she turned to Fred with a blank face.
"You are unbelievable."
Instead of responding to her, he looked back to the ice, smirked and then nodded in the direction he was just looking. When she followed the path, she noticed Adam stretching near the bench. When he spotted her looking at him he smiled at her, and she couldn't help but smile back. The adorable grin on his face was infectious. He stood up, ready to shoot around the puck before the anthem, but before he skated away he shot her a wink. The smile on her face grew tenfold and she looked away, feeling the blush creep up on her cheeks. This did not go unnoticed by Fred who commented.
"Ooooou, he made her bluuuush."
Trying her best to wipe the smile off of her face, she took another drink of her beer before responding. "You're dead to me Gervasi."
He chuckled in response, smiling at her. "We'll see about that one."
Sitting behind the bench, there were no lack of opportunities to pass small smiles his way as Adam would come off the ice from his shifts, and the further along the game got the more Liz enjoyed it. As the horn sounded for the end of the second period, Liz noticed Adam hanging out on the ice waiting for the rest of his teammates to head off. Quickly she pulled a note pad out of her purse, quickly scribbling some words on it and waiting again until Adam glanced her way. When he did, she smirked and held the paper up to the glass. He came closer to the glass trying to read it and smirked when he finally did. In her messy scrawl, she had written 'Score one for me ;)' She was smirking at him as he looked back up to her face from the note. Chuckling to himself quietly, he mouthed to her 'you're on.'

Walking into the bar after the game, Adam was on the hunt. Tyler had told him that Liz was coming out with the group again after the game and he was determined to find her. After five minutes of searching, he was starting to get discouraged and stood in the middle of the back room the Bruins currently occupied scanning the crowd. After another minute or so, he heard a voice from behind him.
"That was a pretty nice goal you scored there, McQuaid."
Smirking to himself, he turned around to face her standing there behind him with a drink in her hand, smirking back at him.
"I had some pretty good motivation."
Liz did a quick once over on him and noticed how good he was looking tonight. "So, I don't know about you, but I could use another drink Mr. Hotshot."
He held a hand out in the direction of the bar. "Ladies first."
Once they had done a couple shots and had beers in their hands, they headed back to the Bruins room and took a spot at one of the small couches that were scattered around the room.
"So how is it that I've never seen you at a game before and suddenly you're at two home games in a row? And with bench seats?"
"Must you ask that, you already know the master mind behind that plan."
He chuckled and nodded his head. "I kinda figured, yeah. It was nice to see you there though, even if you were wearing a pretty shitty jersey."
She smiled looking over to him. "Only Bruins jersey I've got."
"We'll have to fix that then."
The smile on her face grew and she nodded. "Sounds good." She took another drink and looked back to him. "You played great tonight."
He adjusted his position so he was closer to her and placed an arm on the back of the couch behind her. "Helps that I had a gorgeous girl to impress, especially since she gave me direct orders."
She smirked, "it's good to know you can follow directions."
"Speaking of that, what's my reward?"
She laughed, "you think you automatically get a reward for scoring a goal?"
"Yeah, when you asked for it. I did something for you, it's only proper to get something in return."
Smirking, she placed her free hand on his thigh moving a little closer, "you're just going to have to wait and see."
He smirked, leaning in closer to her, but before he could get close enough she spoke, "let's dance."
Internally, he groaned, but grabbed her hand and got up from their seat following her to the dance floor.
Half an hour later, the pair were still on the dance floor. The rest of the team had noticed this and soon they were the talk of the night. Liz looked up from Adam, looking around at the scenery around her and noticed Tyler and Fred were sitting at the bar looking in their direction. She made eye contact and smirked as both of the boys gave her approving nods and gestures, she shook her head and looked back to Adam who had also taken a second to scan the room noticing how there were too many eyes on them for his liking. He looked back down to see she was looking up at him and he smirked down at her, both of them continuing to move to the beat. Her hands went up to the back of his neck, one holding on and the other playing with the hair at the base of his skull. He closed his eyes enjoying the feeling and she ran the other hand down from his neck to his chest. He opened his eyes, looking at her again and pulled her close enough to get to her ear.
"You wanna get out of here?"
She looked up at him and leaned up to respond, "where did you have in mind?"
"My place." He responded, pulling her as close as he could.
She closed her eyes, enjoying the contact and opened them looking up at him again with a smirk on her face. "Let's go, hotshot."

Adam grabbed them a cab outside of the club and soon they were on their way to his place. The ride wasn't too long considering he didn't live very far away from the garden, but the pair could feel the energy circulating in the small space between them and couldn't wait until they were out of the cab and in his apartment. When they got out of the cab, he led her through the doors and to the elevator where they both entered and watched the doors close as he pressed the button. They stood beside each other, neither of them saying anything as she looked up at him taking him in again. He noticed this again and in one quick move wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her up to him capturing her lips with his. The second his lips touched hers, she melted into his arms glad that he had a good grip on her. The elevator pinged and the doors opened, but Adam didn't let go of Liz; instead he rearranged his grip so her feet were off the ground and walked out of the elevator heading to his apartment. When they reached his door, he finally put Liz down and reaching in his pocket to grab the keys. As he fumbled with the keys to open the door, she leaned on the door frame staring up at him with an unmistakable look in her eyes. As soon as he got the lock open, he threw the door open and looked down at her again meeting her eyes before grabbing her waist again and pulling her through the door. Loving the way that he was taking control, Liz took a backseat and let him guide her through the apartment until he reached his bedroom door, throwing it open as well. As soon as they had crossed into the room, she parted herself from him and turned them around pushing him onto the bed. He had a slight look of confusion on his face, but when he looked up to see the smirk on hers, his expression soon matched the feisty brunettes. Taking the few steps to close the space between her and the bed, she stopped at the foot of the bed and smirked down at the man in front of her. "Still want that reward?"

You aren't a horrible person!! Life happens, and it's okay to have taken a break. But now, if you're back, I'm so happy for updates to start coming back!!
I think that in a traditional sense, an engagement/wedding/etc. would come next. That's always an option to explore for Adam and Liz. If not, maybe just some good old-fashioned drama (car accident? hockey collision? sick baby?? ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES)
Honestly, I'll be happy to read anything about the McQuaids at this point. Just take your time and things ideas may come! :) :) :)
