*April's POV*

I stirred a bit before I opened my eyes to the obnoxious glare of light streaming through the window.

It wasn't until I shifted to sit up when I felt the grip of someones arm around my waist tighten.

I froze my eyes trailing down to the body laying beside me.

I relaxed a bit before stifling a laugh as I watched James snore quietly half sprawled out on the bed.

Before long his eyes fluttered open and he turned his head up in my direction and smiled when our eyes met.

"Morning." He said still half asleep.

"Morning." I replied.

I don't know how long we stayed that way. Grinning stupidly at each other but we were snapped from our trance by the sound of feet shuffling through the kitchen.

I tried to get out of bed but James had me trapped under his arm.

"Umm." I said pointedly looking over at James.

"Oh right." He said sheepishly removing his arm from the grip it had on my torso. "Sorry."

I got out of the bed and stretched realizing that last night was the best I'd slept in days.

When I wandered into the kitchen I found my brother at the sink filling a glass with water and a bottle of Advil on the counter beside him.

"Your up early." I commented getting three mugs out to pour us all a cup of coffee.

"Had a headache." Was his only response as he popped the pill into his mouth downing the glass of water.

A few minutes later James padded into the kitchen.

"Mornin'" He said to Tyler who just nodded his head in return.

He took the steming cup smiling gratefully at me before sliding into a stool at the kitchen island. Tyler did the same sitting beside James.

I looked between the two for a minute before setting down my mug and speaking up.

"How long are we going to keep doing this for?"

"What are you talking about?" Ty asked.

"How long are we going to keep pretending that nothing happened?"

Tyler sighed staring intently into his cup as though it had all the answers he was looking for.

"I don't know." He said finally looking up at me. "I wish I could say it's going to get better but...I just don't know anymore."

"We can't change what happened Ty." I started "You said yourself, we were going to get through this together."

"I know." He said "But the more I think about it, the more I replay it in my head. The more I realize that I should have been there for you."

"Your here now." I said "And that's all that matters to me."

"But that's just not good enough."

"Tyler please-"

"No." He interupted "I made a promise to mom when we came here nine years ago. I promised I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

By now James had excused himself leaving Tyler and I alone.

"Please Tyler." I pleaded inching closer to the island. "I feel like I'm loosing you." I choked out.

Tyler's head shot up then and something in his eyes changed, I didn't know exactly what but in an instant he engulfed me in a hug.

"Shh, shh." He said as I let the tears fall freely sobbing into his shoulder. "Your never going to loose me." He said rocking me back and forth pressing a soft kiss into my hair.

"I'm here." He said "I'll alway's be here."

"You guys ready?" I called out the window as we pulled up to Dion's house.

"Almost!" Elisha called running back into the house before emerging with Cody, Mandi and Joffrey trailing behind her.

"Were all set!" She said as she led Dion, Cody and Mandi to her and Dion's car.

Not too long after the two couples piled into their vehicle Lupul joined us jumping in the backseat with James.

It was day three of the teams week long break and we had all decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go on a little camping trip.

"You got everything you need?" I asked Lups.

"Yupp." He smiled sitting back.

"We all ready to go then?" Ty asked putting the key into the ignition starting the car.

"One sec." I said pressing my phone to my ear. "We good to go?" I asked Elisha.

"Were right behind you." She said as I looked into the rearview mirror to see her giving us a thumbs up.

"Alright stay close behind." I replied giving her a thumbs up in return.

"Will do." She said hanging up as i did the same turning to Tyler. "Let's go."

"It's nicer out than I thought." James commented sitting next to me on a log with my brother on the other side and the two couples seated on the opposite side.

"Hey where's Joffrey?" I asked when I didn't see him. "Right here!" He said emerging from his tent with his guitar.

I started strumming my own guitar which was the only one of my instruments I had with me, everything else was moved into storage after the cops had finished with the apartment.

Before long Lups joined in and we were both playing along to the familiar tune of "Beautiful" by Hedley.

City cold, moonlight bright Mountains old, I watch the water

I smiled looking around as I sang enjoying the carefree relaxed atmoshpere.

It had been awhile since things had been this good.

We played a couple more songs before deciding to call it a night.

I watched as everyone piled into their tents before heading down a path to a small river that I remembered seeing on our way to the campsite.

I was skipping stones as I watched the sun go down before I heard footsteps approaching.

"Hey." James said standing beside me picking up a stone and throwing it into the water.

"Hey." I laughed watching as the stone fell into the water with a big splash.

"Maybe you should just stick to hockey." I joked when he threw in another stone and it fell with another splash.

"Oh shut up." He said bumping me with his shoulder playfully.

"What are you doing out here?" I asked

"I followed you."

"That's not creepy at all." I said cracking a smile as he rolled his eyes.

"What are you doing out here?"

"I like to be alone when I'm thinking." I replied

"What are you thinking about?"

"Everything." I said looking over at him.

"I wish there was something I could do to help." He said scuffing st the dirt with the toe of his shoe.

"You've already done so much." I said "Taking me in and just...being there. It means more than you know."

Slowly but subtly James hand inched toward mine before he laced our fingers together.

I looked up at him and watched as he studied my face his eyes flickering down to my lips then back up again.

He leaned in slowly and my breath hitched in my throat as he placed a soft kiss to my cheek.

I leaned my head against his shoulder as we watched the sun go down lifting a hand up to where my skin was still tingling from the kiss.

OMG GUYS I AM SO SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO UPDATE. I feel really bad I just got really busy with school work but here's a new chapter!
