I Trust you

*JVR's POV*

The guys where all putting their equipment on getting ready to head out onto the ice. There was definitely a buzz in the room as we were all excited to be able to play again, even if the season was shortened.

There was a light knock and we all looked up to see April standing there with her hands covering her eyes.

“Is it safe to open my eyes yet?” She asked which got a chuckle out of the boys.

"Yeah come on in.” Jay said tying up his skates as April removed her hands from her face revealing her beautiful green eyes. We made eye contact and we must've been staring for a bit too long as someone beside me cleared their throat waking us form the trance.

"What's up with the jacket?” Lupul asked slipping on his jersey over his padding.

"Well it looks like I'm going to be needing it when I'm behind the bench.” April smiled as we all looked at her confused.

“What?” I asked

"Ty you didn't tell them?” April said turning to her brother who now wore a sly smile.

“I thought I'd let them figure out for themselves.”

“Figure what out?” Reims asked.

“I'm your new medical doctor.” April said as the guys all cheered congratulating her with hugs and fist pumps as I just sat in my stall with my mouth hung open.

"Wait, so does that mean your going to be travelling with us?" I asked.

"Mhm.” She nodded.

"Alright!" Lups exclaimed striding over to put an arm around April's shoulders a smirk plastered to his face.

"And who do you presume you'll be bunking with?" He questioned winking at her.

"Dude I'm right here!" Bozie exclaimed shooting a glare at Lups who waved him off turning back to April to get an answer.

"Well?" He prodded.

"Hmm I don't know but...not with you." She smirked as Lups dropped his arm sticking his tongue out at April all the guys heckling him as he made his way back to his stall.

When we all had our equipment on and were ready to go we filed out all the guys giving April a fist bump as they made their way out. I was the last one to leave and was surprised to see April who was smiling with skates on waiting for me at the exit.

"You coming out with us?" I asked as she pressed her petite fist to my large gloved one all the while trying to shake the feeling I got every single time I saw her smile.

"Yup."

"Well your going to have to be pretty fast if your going to want to catch up with us." I said looking at her as she walked backwards narrowing her eyes at my comment.

"Oh please." She scoffed. "I could skate circles around you."

"Oh really." I challenged. "You sure about that?"

"Positive." She smiled.

"Then prove it." I said stepping out onto the ice not even giving her a chance to respond.

"Your on!" She shouted making her way out onto the ice.

I watched in awe as she circled around the rink twice before stopping in front of me showering me with snow.

"What did I say.” she asked her arms crossed smirking as I tried not to smile.

“I'll admit your pretty fast, how'd you learn to skate like that anyway?”

“When I was about 6 or 7 I would wake Ty up at some ungodly hour in the morning so he could practice on the rink in our backyard, and eventually I found myself out there skating with him and it just sort of became something that I continued to do even after he made the NHL.”

She explained as I shook my head laughing.

"What?” She asked

"It's just-” I faltered looking up at her “You find a way to surprise me everyday.”

"What do you mean?”

"I mean it's hard to find someone like you.” I said moving closer to her to that he where within inches of each other. “Someone that's real.” I continued looking her dead in the eye. “Your more than just a pretty face.”

"You think I'm pretty?” She asked as I looked down avoiding her gaze.

“I mean-” I started but I was cut off by a whistle.

Thank fucking god. I thought to myself as coach gathered all the players around him.

The rest of practice consisted of April and I stealing glances at eachother and by the end of it I accepted the inevitable.

I was falling for my teammates sister.

And I was falling fast.
