A Favor for a Friend

Chapter 19

I woke up early enough the next morning to go get breakfast in the lobby. Normally I was asleep still. I got my breakfast which consisted of apple juice, a waffle, and yogurt. I never really likes breakfast much.

I had just taken a sip of juice when my phone rang. Sid. No surprise.

"Hey..." I said half heartedly. I was still upset about everything.

"You're coming to the game right?" He asked me. It sounded like he expected me to say no.

"Only if you want me to... I get if you don't want me to." I said.

"What are you talking about? I would always want you to come." He sounded confused.

"B-But I was so mean to you guys last night." I said.

"You're idea of mean and mine must be completely different. You were frustrated because we are annoying as hell."

"You're not mad at me?" I asked.

"No, nobody is." He replied.

I can't explain the relief I felt when he said that to me. It was like a million pounds being lifted off my shoulders.

"I guess I am coming then." I said a little less depressed sounding.

"Good. You're boyfriend is picking you up." He said. I could picture the look on his face.

"Not my boyfriend!" I argues back.

"It's just not official yet." He laughed and hung up before I could argue.

I rolled my eyes and put my phone down and went back to finishing my breakfast.

At about eleven thirty Olli came up and knocked on the door of my room. "One second!" I yelled as I pulled my shirt on.

I ran over and answered the door. He smiled a little with his hands in his pockets. "Hey." He said.

"Hey." I said with a small smile. "You can come in. I just have to find my shoes." I said stepping aside. Believe it or not I could lose anything anywhere. Even a pair of shoes in a hotel room.

"Ok." He chuckled and stepped inside. He stood by the door as I searched for probably five minutes until I found them under a pile of clothes in the bathroom, only me.

I shoved my foot into them. "Sorry! I'm ready!" I said grabbing my jacket.

"Don't worry about it." He said and got up. He had sat down during my search.

We walked out and took the elevator down to the first level. We got in the car and started our way to Consol.

It was great to see Olli wasn't mad at me. It was a huge relief. He turned the radio on and went through the stations. "Wait! Stop! I love this song!" I gasped when Green Day came on playing Holiday.

He pulled his hand away and put it back on the steering wheel. I sang along, not loudly though.

"You're such a weirdo." Olli shook his head.

"I know I am, and proud of it." I said just as the chorous started again.

We got to Consol and got out of the car. We walked inside, getting a comments from the team that we both learned to ignore by now.

"Im going to go get my seat." I said once we got near where I was supposed to go.

"Ok. Wish me luck." He smiled.

"Good luck, don't die." I said, "Pass that on to the team too."

He nodded and made his way to the locker room while I went to get my seat. Sid always made sure I sat in the front. Always. Probably so he could make faces at me which he did quite a bit, even when he played with my brother. That's where it came from.

I sat down and took out my phone. I answered se texts and called my mom back home. Something I should be doing more often. Time flew and soon warm ups started. I watched a little but also played on my phone a little. Soon the game was starting. I watched, excited to see what was to come.
