A Favor for a Friend

I was squished in the middle of the car between Geno and Flower. Leave it to Neal to call shot gun and force the extremely tall Russian hockey player to sit in the back with two others. It didn't seem like that big of a surprise to the others though.

"So, Aliyah, you're friends with Sid?" Flower asked me.

"He was friends with my brother first." I said with a shrug. "Didn't you crash at my house for like two weeks once?" I said to Sidney.

"Yep. We had extreme training for two weeks and your house was a lot closer so I didn't have to drive as far there and back." he said looking back in the rear view mirror.

"That's right." I laughed. "It was really weird too. I was like ten or eleven."

"I was sixteen I think." he said.

"It sounds so weird you're that much older than me." I sighed. It really was weird how there was such an age gap between us but we were still such close friends. Neither of us nor our parent seemed to care though.

"That's awesome though." Flower said with a smile. "I couldn't believe you just packed up and came down here to Pitt either."

"Neither could I." I shook my head.

"Don't worry I will make it up to you somehow." Sid said.

"I know you will." I said with a smile

"I like her already." James said and laughed a little.

We all laughed a little, it was the first I had heard from Geno. He hadn't spoken through the ride so far. He didn't for the rest of the ride either. We arrived at Consol not long later. It was huge.

I got out of the car with them and followed them inside. I stayed quiet now as more people started coming around. I am fine around small groups but the bigger the group, the less I talk. They were all friendly but neither me nor the people passing had time to stop and talk.

"Here's your ticket, we have to go get ready. We will see you after the game. Make your way over to the benches once people start leaving, I will come get you when we are all changed." he said handing me the ticket.

"Ok, sounds good." I smiled a little.

I got my seat and sat down. I waited for the game to start as more and more people filled in during warm-ups.

I still had no idea why Sid wanted me to come down to Pittsburg so badly, he said he needed a favor but he had yet to tell me what it was. I would probably have to kill him later when I find out why he needed me here so badly.

A little later, the game had started, and they had a strong line up if I do say so myself. They had this game in the bag. Everyone knew it too.

The first period ended without a single goal. It didn't worry me though. Jokinen was the first to score in the second period, followed by a goal from Kunitz. Sid and Malkin followed up ending the game with a three point lead. I was going to have to slap a certain team captain if they lost due to my hatred of the opposing team.

At the beginning of the second period, I noticed they put in Maatta, the rookie defenseman. I had seen him play before and he seemed like he had potential. He seemed to be playing pretty well at the moment also. It amazed me that at his age he could be better than a lot if the other players in the league. Think of in a few years when he is Sid's age.

The game ended in an intense third period. No one scored though. It ended in a three to two game when Sutter made a goal in the second period.

Once most of the people had left, I walked over to where Sid told me he would meet me. It was a little awkward for me to stand there by myself.

"How was the game?" Sid asked when he walked towards me.

"Goo- oh my god you reek." I choked on the stench.

"Sorry, I assumed you were used to it by now between your brother and I." he said with a shrug.

"I am, but this is a new extreme." I coughed and took a large step back.

"I will go and shower first then. Just meet us across the street at the bar." he said.

"I can't drink though." I sighed.

"I know, but you can legally go inside." he said knowing that stuff like that annoys me.

"Fine, hurry up though." I said and quickly made my way out and away from the awful smell.

"See ya later, Lili." he smirked.

"Stop that!" I snapped and left the arena.
