A Favor for a Friend

Chapter 5

It didn't take long for the entire team to be completely wasted. Olli didn't seemed surprised at all. Yet again, I wasn't either. I met the rest of them before that though. They were more interested in their drinks though, plus they wanted to force Olli and I to talk. They seceded too.

"Please don't give those two anymore. Please." Olli leaned over the bar counter towards the bartender and said only loud enough that he and I could hear. I couldn't help but laugh at the comment.

"Sure thing." the bartender smiled and nodded.

"What time is it?" I asked with a yawn.

"Let me check...." he reached for his phone, "Almost two."

"Oh my god!" I said, "I don't even know where I'm staying tonight."

"Sid didn't tell you?" he said and raised an eyebrow.

"No, I was playing twenty questions in the car with them on the way to the arena." I shook my head.

"I mean, I can get you a hotel room or something. You could just stay with me and Jussi too, I'm sure he wouldn't mind."

I was a little taken back by the offer. "I don't want to intrude, I can get a hotel somewhere." I said.

"You won't be. We have plenty of room." he said and got up, "I will just tell him and let Sid know we are leaving."

"Oh, um, ok. Thanks." I said trying not to let it show how awkward I felt about it.

Olli walked over to Jussi and told him quickly, he wouldn't remember in about five minutes though. Sidney was the same. He nodded and said it was fine but he really wasn't registering what he was saying.

Olli walked back over to me. "Ready when you are." he said.

"I've been ready." I got up and stretched. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder.

We started walking out, I didn't bother to grab my suitcase. I just shoved a change of clothes in my purse with my makeup and things like that. It was only one night anyway. We started walking back towards his car at Consol. It was only across the street so there was no use driving over.

"Good game by the way. You played well." I said with a friendly smile.

I could see him blush a little. "Thanks.... It wasn't that good, I played better for London. I just need to get to know the team and how they play I guess."

"I can't wait to see that then. Don't be so hard on yourself either. You can't try to change your game to fit everyone else. You both will figure each other out and learn how to play with each other." I said. I knew it was true. When my brother was traded to another team he went through the same thing. He told me exactly what I told Olli. Even though I didn't play it made total sense to me.

He seemed to be deep in thought for a minute. "You know..... you're right." he said and nodded. "That's very true."

"Give my older brother credit for that one. He went through the same thing." I said and sighed, "He will probably come down here in a few weeks or so, you will probably meet him."

"I will be glad to meet someone who has such hockey wisdom then." he said with one of those boy-charm smirks that makes every girl in the world roll her eyes and laugh.

"Don't over expect though. He is a loser." I said with a giggle.

We got to his car and got inside. I slid into the passenger seat and buckled my seatbelt as he started the car. I pushed my hair back with my fingers and leaned back.

"Sorry if I fall asleep, just wake me up when we get there if I do." I said already knowing I would. I was exhausted.

"No problem, it isn't too far from here." he smiled and pulled out of the parking lot.

I feel asleep to no surprise. I couldn't keep my eyes open much longer. It remained silent in the car the entire ride there.
