Back on the Road Again

Patrick walked into the parking garage, with Jonathan on his right side, holding his good hand. The other arm was wrapped up thickly in different bandages, but not in a cast. It had been put in a sling, and Patrick could barely move it. His clavicle still bothered him, but nothing mattered because he was staying with Jonny. He couldn't say the same for James. It had taken twenty minutes for Logan and him to stop saying goodbye. As they did kiss each other goodbye, Patrick's heart warmed a little bit. Those two had been through so much together, and they had made it. Patrick thought it was a good sign.

As they arrived to there car, Laura laughed at them. Not only had the women cut off Patrick's luscious hair, they had forced him to get earrings, ugh. They outfits were awful as well. James had on a three-piece suit that looked expensive and tailored, but his earring and messy blond hair did not seem like they would be the traits of a person wearing a suit. Patrick had on skinny, skinny, ass-hanging out skinny jeans on (which Jonathan hadn't been against) a tight pink, button-up shirt, and flower pattern pink Vans. Jonathan had a grey trench coat on, underneath a shirt that Patrick could only describe as a man-dress, with skinny jeans that didn't show off his ass, but Patrick could easily see the outline of his package (Patrick hadn't been against that), and Vans.

She he handed each of them a pair of contact lenses that changed eye color. Patrick's eyes became a chocolate brown, Jonathan's a bright blue, and James' stormy grey. She left them with instructions on how to get to the vault where the information was kept.

James pointed at Jonathan and said, "You drive."

"Why?" Jonathan asked.

"I have a bullet wound, and your boyfriend has a broken clavicle, so that's why you drive," he said.

Jonathan got the keys to the car, and screamed, "Yes!" as his inner teenager got out of him. "We got a Dodge Callenger!"

Patrick smiled as his boyfriend's playfulness. Even though he was called "Captain Serious", he was more like "Captain Twelve-Year-Old" away from the ice. Patrick was happy that Jonathan could still be himself, even though they were on a "trip" in which the people they were with had tried to kill them, twice.

Patrick got in the back, while James climbed in next to him. Patrick wasn't particularly happy about this as he did not trust James, but Patrick did want to find out more about him.

About a hour into the drive, Patrick started the talking.

"James, what was Logan's and your's first date like?"

Jonathan flashed him an odd look from the rear-view mirror. James began to speak however.

"Our first date, wasn't really a date. We had both just gotten out of High School for summer, and had went to the mall with a group of friends, and L had wanted something. I think it was a pair of Nike shoes, or something like that and he couldn't pay for it. I knew he would never take anyone's money, so I bought the shoes in secret, and later that day when we went to my car, I had gotten their first and had put the shoes on the dash with a bow on it," he began to explain, and Patrick could feel like he was going to have an aww moment, and he could see Jonathan melting away in the front seat.

James continued, "When he got there he was extremely angry. He gave me lecture about how he couldn't take my gifts, and that I should know that money was hard to come by, but instead of responding, I just smiled and nodded. That's when L kissed me, and I knew he was the one. I guess we both did. And later that night we drove out to the middle of nowhere, and had sex."

Patrick could feel his soul just melting in his chest, and Jonathan was the one who said "Aww."

James asked the next question. "How did you know that you loved each other?"

Jonathan answered without hesitation, "The first time I laid eyes on him," Jonathan gave him a loving look, and Patrick melted with a chocked sigh.

"I knew the moment I saw him as well," he responded, giving Jonathan an air kiss. James only smiled, and turned back towards the scenery.

They drive for a time with no one speaking, again, until it was James who spoke first.

"Stop at the this rest stop," he told Jonathan. Jonathan pulled over and James got out of the car and walked toward the reception area. Jonathan leaned back, and kissed Patrick before asking a question.

"Why did you ask James that?"

"To get him to open up, so we'll get more information."

"Good thanking Peeks."

"Someone has to do it baby."

Jonathan gave him a playful dirty look, and kissed Patrick's nose. That's when James returned.

"No new news about us," he told them before going on, " Oh and Patrick, Happy 26th Birthday."

"What?" Patrick asked.

"It's your birthday," James replied.

" Oh my god Peeks, it is your birthday!" Jonathan replied, his looks very sad.

"It's okay baby. You didn't want to forget. Hell I forgot too."

"I was going to get special wine, and Chinese food delivered. I had so much planned," Jonathan began to cry.

"It's really okay baby," Patrick insisted.

"O-o-ok Peeks," Jonathan began to dry his tears.

"There's a lovely little diner in the next town that serves a great mystery-meat burger," James interjected," so how about we go there?"

"It's up to you Peeks," Jonathan said.

"Let's go, I guess," Patrick responded.

"Good," Patrick heard James say quietly.

They pulled over in the next town, and parked in front of a small mom-and-pop restaurant. Upon entering they caused the entire place to stop and gawk at them. James broke the silence.

"A table for three!"

A slim brunnette waitress walked them to their tables. "Are you a romantic group?" She asked.

"No, those two are, I was forced to drive to them to Chicago by my employer," James said, using their fake aliases to create a story.

"So you're single?" She asked James.

"Only if you want me to be," James replied with a wink.

She smiled, and told them that whatever they wanted was in the house. James got a cup of black coffee, and Jonathan and Patrick got water, and fries to share. Before leaving, James wrote something else on her notepad, she smiled and walked off.

After a time she returned with the coffee and waters. She also handed James a piece of paper, that he put in his suit pocket. Small talk was the bulk of their conversation, until a blond man walked up to the table and stared at Patrick.

"Patrick Kane?" He asked confused. It took Patrick about ten seconds to realize it was his cousin. In that moment Patrick almost peed himself, until James came in to the conversation.

"Hello my name is Sam, and these are my friends Tyler and Levi, there's no Patrick at this table."

"Yes that's Patrick Kane, and that must be Jonathan Toews," he said while pointing at the both of them.

James acted faster than both of them could of. In one swift motion he brought the coffee cup down on Patrick's cousin's head, knocking him unconscious. James then tossed at $20 bill on the table, and the three rushed out and drove off.

James was the first to speak, again.

"Even if that man knew who you were, what we got in return for going there was quite worth it."

"What?" Patrick asked.

"The waitress and I know each other. She worked for me when I ran the company. While we were there, she gave me the coordinates for where Marcus is going to be," he explained.

Patrick thought that was all risky for just coordinates, but something Wales concerned him more. James began to talk like a southern hick, while explaining to him that the grass was purple. Patrick slapped James, and he became cognizant again for a time.

"The coffee was drugged with a chemical I had used on her before. That's why underneath the coordinates she wrote "'Revenge Sucks"'," James phased out again.

Patrick sat there trying to put the pieces of their day together, when James kissed him, pushing his tongue into Patrick's mouth. Jonathan screamed and the car swarved. After a time James broke off and promptly fell asleep.

"Well that's weird. Sort of like the rest of this day," Patrick thought to himself. That wasn't the only thing he thought about though. James was a better kisser than Jonathan, and Patrick had gotten a boner. Maybe Jonathan wasn't the one.

Next Up: Chicago, and an unfortunate encounter with Coach Q.

@EvelynaKitty
Thank you for your advice. Not every character in a story can survive, even if it is Jonathan Toews, or Patrick Kane.

Poor Kazer....
Three things: One, I love the action in this, Two: I feel like each part should be extended some more, and Three: I'm confused at how they got from the bedroom to the shower so fast. Can this be paced a little longer and slower? I know that this type of writing is highly exciting, but this is where it takes great patience. Sometimes I still have this problem, but pacing is best helped through description, however boring it may be. Hope this helps out! I still love this idea, even though....you're gonna....kill....Jonny or Kanerboo....
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't kill either of them!! :O Why does Kanerboo or Jonny have ta die???? No. No. I'm gonna be sooooooo sad. :(
