One-Shots (2014-2015 Season)

Bergy Punches Marchy

During The Colorado Avalanche Game, There Was A Humorous Incident That Occurred!

Scene: What exactly happened during the Colorado Avalanche game when Patrice Bergeron took his fingers and whacked his linemate Brad Marchand in the face? Was it intentional? Or was it an accident? Or was it more….?

****

Brad Marchand stole the puck from the Colorado player at the blue line and skated rapidly to the net. Reilly Smith had tried to clear the zone or pass it up to him. Brad saw the opportunity for a steal and took it. He kept the puck close and used his peripheral vision. Patrice Bergeron, his linemate, followed him closely, trying to get open, if Brad wanted to pass the puck. Instead he saw that his buddy was wide open.

“Shoot the puck! Shoot, Marchy! Shoot!”

Brad slapped the puck at the net, hard, but the Avalanche goalie caught it and stifled any rebound option, as Reilly Smith skidded to a halt, joining the party. He had his eyes on Brad and Patrice, as the ref’s whistle blew the play dead.

Brad shoved the Aves’ defenseman, Johnson down and started jawing with the Colorado players to the side of the goal.

“Hey! Was that really necessary?”

“Yeah, it was. I didn’t do anything to him!”

“Marchy, back off! Not the time!” Patrice exclaimed, coming over to the scrum, to break things up.

He reached out and punched his linemate in the face, getting him square in the nose. Brad flinched and backed away, as Patrice grabbed the Colorado player, seemingly ignoring his buddy, who clutched at his nose.

“Bergy!” the small winger growled, as he took a few skates backward.

“Don’t start something. If you want a fight, we’ll give it to you!” Patrice hissed, as the Avalanche players retreated.

The goalie passed the ref the puck, who skated around toward the faceoff dot to prepare for the next action. Brad glanced up, wincing and saw Reilly cracking up. The young winger struggled to suppress his chuckles of laughter. Brad gave him a stern look of unamusement. The trio skated to the bench.

“Woooo! Way to go Bergy!” Shawn Thornton chimed on the bench, as they all took their seats. He patted Patrice on the back of his arm, as the centerman took his seat next to the big fourth liner.

Brad shook his head. “You got me right in the nose!”

Patrice lightly tapped his linemates’ thigh. “You should have scored that goal and not jawed with Johnny after the whistle!”

“It hurt!”

“Serves you well. You need to buckle down and focus Marchy. Score more goals, man!”

“I’m trying!”

“Don’t whine!”

“I’m not! Why did you punch me in the face?”

“Because I hate you!” Patrice teased.

“It’s because I didn’t pass to you on the 2-on-1, right?”

“Good boy!” Patrice replied, spitting out some ice before him, “I do have to say that it was wicked steal of the puck though!”

“I can’t believe you punched your liney in the face!?” Carl Soderberg commented, leaning over, grinning.

“Who punched who in the face?” Gregory Campbell questioned.

“Bergy!” Shawn replied. “Bergy punched Marchy in the face!”

“Oh haha, laugh all you want!” Brad chirped.

“I’m sorry Marchy. I didn’t mean it, but still…” Patrice attempted, giving him an innocent look and shrugging.

“So...Bergy finally had enough and punched him in the face!” Chris Kelly chuckled.

“Kels, your linemates hate you so much that they didn’t even pass to you on the last shift!”

“At least they don’t punch me in the face!” Chris shot back, playfully.

“Ha-ha!” Jordan Caron snickered.

“What are you laughing at Jordy?” Brad scolded.

“I saw the whole thing! I was right by the boards when it happened!” Jordan remarked.

“What can you say, I saw my chance…” Patrice pipped up.

“...and took it!” Shawn finished, snorting.

“It was a right hook too! Sick!” Shawn commented, nodding his head in approval at number 37.

“At least it wasn’t a left!” Brad sighed.

They all shared a laugh with one another.

Notes

I did have this as a stand alone One-Shot, but to decrease the amount of stories and also bring these back, I’m moving it to the One-Shot story collection along with a few others, hope you don’t mind.

Another scene from Behind the B and the actual game that struck my interests! :)
Bergy and Marchy 4ever!

Comments

These will run until the start of next season. So I'm thinking until the week before Pre-Season in September. I might get something from a dream or on Tumblr or from the Blackhawks Convention... ;)

Sorry about all the updates, all of them are stories which were already on here in my collection, but they were stand-alone one-shots and I thought it'd be better to move them to this collection. Thanks! :)

Other than that, I love it! :D Thanks again! ;) Hahahaaa, yes, Bacon! :)
