AAOOOSC!: Gulls' Adventures!

Brandon, Joseph, and Nick are ambling through the lavish hallway of the Conway Mansion, following Kalle.

From ahead of them, Kalle exclaims, "Let us have breakfast first!" He throws an index finger in the air. "Food is comforting, especially after your house explodes!"

Behind him, Brandon lets out a devastating groan and dips his head into his open hands.

To his right, Nick turns to get a good look at his face. "What's wrong? We get to live in a mansion now!"

"How am I going to tell the owner about the house?" Brandon croaks out through his hands.

"Oh…" Nick reverts his head away from him. "Well, you’ll do well with that."

They then enter the radiant and opulent dining area. Kalle takes the nearest seat with his back facing the hallway. The three roommates take the seats across from him.

Scott then emerges from the double swinging doors with a covered silver tray in one hand and a white, draped towel over his bent arm.

He halts at the end of the table and announces, "Mr. Tokarski is in the medical wing, all sound and secured." He places the tray on the table.

Kalle beams up at him. "That's good to hear!"

Brandon, Nick, and Joseph exchange expressions of uneasiness.

"What's for breakfast, Scott?" Kalle continues on.

Scott swiftly plucks the lid from the tray. "Toast."

Sure enough, lying on the silver tray are four slices of toasted bread.

Kalle slightly frowns at the breakfast. "Toast?" He peers up at him. "Do we need to go grocery shopping?"

Scott drums his fingers against the smooth surface of the lid. "I was thinking something a bit more...simple." He clutches onto the lid, halting his motions. "We have to humble ourselves."

"The AHL is already humbling enough," Brandon mutters, turning away from the butler.

Scott then briskly turns around and exits the dining area through the double swinging doors.

The four skaters silently take one slice of the browned, warm bread.

Brandon gazes around the surface of the table. "Butter?"

Kalle shakes his head while chewing.

Joseph scowls at his slice of bread. "The only time I go to the Conway Mansion is when the chef decides to go all humble and simple." He tears a bite from it and chews. "Wow, Monty, I didn't know you could cook chef-status here." He shoots a glare at his roommate.

Brandon gives him an anxious look. "Erm, I'll take that as a compliment." He takes a bite of bread.

Joseph peers down at his half-eaten bread and swallows. "This is the unhealthiest thing I had all this week."

Nick wipes his crumb-filled hands against his shorts after quickly finishing up his breakfast. "Guys?" he calls out to his two roommates.

Brandon and Joseph turn to him. "Mm?" Brandon raises his eyebrows.

Nick leans closer to the two. "Dustin is here," he whispers. "What are we gonna do about him?"

"Make sure he never leaves that wing," Joseph growls louder than him.

From across the table, Kalle is heard gasping. "Why not?"

Joseph whirls to him with flashing eyes. "Because he—!"

"Because we want him to never leave that wing in the state he's in!" Brandon blurts out before Joseph told him the raw truth. He peers at his other two serious roommates while chuckling nervously. "Heh heh, right?"

With an irritated huff, Joseph sharply turns away from him.

Kalle gives the three roommates a toothy grin. "That's good! You guys are so kind, wondering and hoping the best for Dustin!"

Brandon gives him a forced nod with pursed lips and slanted eyebrows. He then whirls to his two roommates and whispers, "We'll discuss this later when we’re alone."
