Wake Me Up

Chapter 11

"Be fast, I know your a girl and can take a while," Patrick smirked at Jackie as she got out of his car. It was after hockey practice and they were back at Jackie's house.
"Don't you wanna smell good and look nice?" she laughed as she ruffled his hair. He shrugged.
"Nah, I'm a dude, I can change in the car, but you on the other hand, should not be smelling like that." Jackie playfully swatted him on the arm and then quickly hurried into her house to go get ready.

She took a short, hot shower and then began to pick out her outfit. She knew Hannah had made an outfit for her but she didn't want to show Hannah that she was forgiven.

She chose dark washed skinny jeans with plain, black flats. She wore a long sleeved black shirt that was see through so she had to wear a cami underneath it. As she began to blow dry her hair, she she put on her makeup too. She didn't want to go over the top with it, so she swiped on some lip gloss along with some mascara and she was good to go. She took a long look at herself in the mirror and smiled. She didn't look Hannah pretty, but she looked pretty enough.

"I'm back!" she announced, as she once again, slipped into the front seat of Patrick's car. He was already in a black suit and smelled strongly on Calvin Klein cologne.
"You look beautiful," he said, his mouth hanging open slightly and his eyes scanning her body from head to toe. Jackie giggled uncomfortably.

"Thanks baby," she said, giving him a peck on the cheek.

"Just that?" he asked, a look of pain crossing his face. Jackie gave him a seductive smile.

"Just that."

When they arrived at the restaurant hand in hand, Jackie saw Hannah and Jonathan sitting at a table. For a moment, Jackie thought they looked, well, bored. But that could have just been her imagination.
"Hey Jonathan, hi Hannah," Patrick said, as he pulled Jackie's chair out for her. She thanked him as she sat down.
"How was practice?" Jonathan asked, interested.
"It was good, you know Jonathan, you have a great teammate right here," Jackie said thoughtfully, as she gave a warm smile to Patrick. Patrick held up his hands as if to say, "I'm perfect, don't judge."

"He would be if he didn't beat up a cab driver every night," Jonathan shot back. Patrick's smile faded and rolled his eyes.
"It was one time," he mumbled. Jackie put her hand on his shoulder and whispered into his ear, "It's okay Patrick, I know your a real gentlemen." Now it was Jonathan's turn to roll his eyes. Was that jealously Jackie saw?

Eager to join the conversation, Hannah said,
"So did you offside Patrick really good?"

Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared. Stared at the beautiful, airhead girl. Stared at the girl who just got checking and offside mixed up. Jackie couldn't even answer her, for fear her words would come out oozing with anger. Instead of her answering, Jonathan answered looking clearly annoyed.

"Honey, is it checking that your thinking of?" Hannah bit her lip as she thought hard.
"Oh yeah, that! Sorry I forgot!" Jackie tried to hold back her laughter. She wasn't such a hockey genius now. Now that Jackie thought about it, she wondered how Hannah had even picked up conversation on this date. . . .

One new text from Patrick Jackie's phone read, as she quietly got it out of her purse. Giving Patrick a curious look, she glanced down at her phone screen.

I wonder if Old Johnny boy is just in it for the sex....she is rather a fucking airhead.

Trying not to laugh, Jackie put her phone back and covered her mouth. The rest of the dinner went by like this: Jonathan and Patrick and Jackie would talk hockey as Hannah texted away on her phone. Jackie tried not to notice Jonathan staring intently at her, whenever she talked. Was it just her, or was Jonathan actually starting to have feelings for her? She must be crazy. He likes Hannah, not her.

"Alright dude, I gotta go to the bathroom, be right back," Patrick said as he pushed his chair back and got up. He leaned down and kissed Jackie on the top of her head before leaving.

"I have to go to, be back soon babe," Hannah said tartly as she scurried off to.

This left Jonathan and Jackie, alone at the table. Jackie tried to interest herself with the many paintings on the walls of the restaurant, but somehow, her eyes kept traveling back to Jonathan, sitting there, in his suit and tie, looking ever so sexy.

"Do you think I made the right choice?'' Jonathan asked suddenly. This startled JAckie, causing her to widen her eyes, and cock her head to the side.

"What do you mean, the right choice?" Jonathan sighed. He leaned over the table so that he and Jackie were nose to nose.

"You know what I mean. Every day I wake up having dreams. Dreams of me and a beautiful girl, kissing and having the time of our lives. You know who that girl is? It's you. Every time I see Hannah, she just proves to me how wrong of a choice I made that night at the club," he muttered, his breath hot on Jackie's face. Jackie opened her mouth to speak, but he shushed her.

"I know what your going to say, if I never met Hannah, I would've never met you. But somehow I think the universe would've had us meet one way or another. I want you Jackie, I don't want Patrick having you. I don't want him hurting you cause I know he will in the end. That's how he is. He toys with girls and then leaves them high and dry. I don't want that to happen to you. I want a girl that knows hockey, that will listen to me and love me for me, and not just because I'm famous. That girl is you Jackie." Without another word, before Jackie could even react, he leaned in and kissed her. His lips were soft and molded perfectly with hers.

She was surprised at first but then gave in. She kissed him back, and felt his tongue against her lips, begging to go in. She obeyed. This felt so good, it felt so. . . .

"Jonathan this is wrong," Jackie said, suddenly pulling away. She looked into his chocolate brown eyes, that she seemed to get lost into. She saw the puppy dog look cross his face.

"Then why does this feel so right?"

The rest of the night went by in a blur. When Patrick and Hannah had gotten back, Jonathan and Jackie had acted like nothing was wrong. They all had small talk before they had to leave. The whole car ride back to her house Jonathan's words floated around her head.
"He toys with girls and then leaves them high and dry." Was this what was going to happen to Jackie? Was Patrick going to leave her when he got bored?

Of course it was. Jackie knew Jonathan knew him better than anyone else. If that's what Jonathan said he was going to do, then most likely, it would happen.
"Are you okay babe?" Patrick asked, as he pulled into her driveway. She snapped out of her thoughts, at the sound of his voice.
"I'm fine, I had a great time tonight," she said, half heartedly. He gave her his famous lopsided grin.
"I had a great night too. Although I do feel bad for Jonathan, he sure has an airhead on his hands. No offense of course since she is your friend." Jackie did a fake laugh that even she thought, was a dead give away to him that she wasn't right. But he didn't seem to notice.

"It's fine, I totally get it."

"Listen, I want you to meet my team, everybody wants to meet you, and I want you to meet them." Jackie's jaw dropped. Patrick laughed.

"Close your mouth, you don't want any bugs flying in." She laughed.

"They want to meet me?" He stroked the side of Jackie's cheek as he began to speak.

"Yes they do, to be honest with you, they don't even want to see a picture of Hannah. Let's just say, I might've told them all how much of a puck slut she is," he said, his eyes, glimmering with mischief.

"Of course I would like to meet them then!" Jackie exclaimed, ringing her arms around Patrick's neck. When they pulled away, Patrick went in for a kiss. But somehow, Jackie didn't give in. She pulled away before he could make contact.

"Thanks for the great night Pat, I really had fun, text me when you can okay?" she asked, giving him a peck on the cheek instead. She opened the car door and then opened her front door with her keys. When she got inside she threw the keys down and sighed. What was she going to do? There was for sure something that happened that night. And it wasn't her falling hard for Patrick.

It was Jackie falling hard for Jonathan.

aww.. So happy her and her team whipped it out in the championship and that someone was there to stop the a holes at the bar
really great. Loved that she checked Pat. I honestly would love a story where they didn't necessarily play him off as an ass once he gets in a relationship. Everyone makes bad decisions where he is in his life his is just more publicized. Of course I have never met him or would actually know him more than face value so he always could be an A hole.. who knows...

Anyway great story keep it up
Please post soon :) I'm having withdrawal symptoms from not reading your stuff.
