Caught Between Love
Summary
One night Sid introduces his teammate, James Neal to Tess after being bugged by Neal for a whole year. Things start to heat up between Tess and James while Sid is left behind to deal with the thought of what might have been.
Tess finds herself confused my Sid's sudden change in attitude and begings questioning her relationship.
In the end, who will capture Tess' heart?

James Neal
James is so unlike Tess. He's crazy. He's adorable. He has questionable fashion sense. But most of all, Tess feels connected to him on levels she never felt before. James feels liberated by Tess' company as he begins venturing out into the world. He furnished his house, learned how to cook and even started washing his hair more than once a week. He finds himself falling for Tess more and more without the notion that he has a rival, his own teammate.
Maxine 'Max' Lotus
Maxine, Max for short, is Tess' best friend from University of Pittsburgh. They first met at soccer training camp. She's very opinionated and supportive of Tess and her dreams. In some ways, Max calms and balances Tess out when things get too stressful. Though Max wants the best for Tess, she sometimes criticizes the decisions Tess makes regarding her love life. Max is very sassy and loud, she loves being the center of attention. She finds herself in awkward situations sometimes and Tess is usually the one that has to bail her out.
Sidney Crosby
Sid is friends with Tess, the first guy she ever met after moving to Pittsburgh. They both have a lot in common, both captains of their sports teams both professionally and nationally. He's a kind guy who'd rather stay at home and watch hockey than go out and party with the boys. He likes to be taken seriously so Tess balances him out in every way as she pushes him out of his comfort zone. Sid's family adores Tess and often makes remarks that the two should date but Sid and Tess are unwilling. Things turn for Sid when he realizes that his friendship with Tess is in jeopardy after a teammate of his begins to show interest.
Tess Mariot
She's a star soccer player for University of Pittsburgh who also happens to be both an olympian and member of Canada's Women's Soccer Team. She's often considered the Canadian version of USWNT player, Alex Morgan, but with black hair and the bluest eyes you've ever seen. Tess comes from a sports family. Her mom is from England and played for the Women's national soccer team while her father is a retired NHL player, spending almost 20 years with the same team; the Montreal Canadiens. She has four older brothers, two play in the NHL while her other brothers play in the AHL. Tess is about 6 ft tall, an inch taller than her mother but 4 inches shorter than her father and brothers. She played professional soccer over in England with Arsenal Ladies FC since the tender age of 14 where she developed skill that makes her one of the top notch women soccer players in the world.
